Don G cafe was the last and final restaurant for our assignment. Don G
Cafe serves a wide variety of food that includes Chinese and Western cuisines. It is conveniently located right outside of Sunway Campus. Don G Cafe caters for the students from Sunway University College and Monash University.
It is often not too crowded and has a nice relaxing environment when we're inside.
You can either sit outside where you will be well fanned or if you would like
to avoid the afternoon heat like most of us Malaysian do, you can take a sit
inside the cafe and enjoy the air-con. The price of the food is also reasonable and
affordable for an average college student. The price ranges from RM5 to RM12 for
a full meal and another option would be the special set which has a different choice
every day which is a bit similar to the Subway sandwiches concept. You can get it at RM7.90 from Monday to
Thursday while on Friday, you can get it at RM9.90 and on Saturday, you can get it at
RM11.90.
Meal of the day ( Different everyday )
The portion of food given here is reasonable and it will ensure that you will
be satisfied until dinner. Normally the main choice of food will be rice
because it is one of their specialties (Dry Butter Cream Chicken, Yum!!). The
service here is good as the waiters will normally welcome you with a
friendly greeting and a heart-warming smile but the only problem with the service is that it takes quite a while for the food
to arrive especially for those who are not ordering the Meal of the Day.
On the other
hand, to compensate for this, we used the time waiting by playing board games
that are provided at the sides of the walls. These board games are not your usual board
games that you see as they consist of European board games, just to name a few games such as The
Settlers of Catan, Blokus and Jungle Speed: Rabbids. The
great thing
about it is that you get to play it as long as you want so you can play
it
while waiting for your food or after eating (or even for some of those who
are people who are crazy about games they can play it while they are
eating).
Some of the games that were provided at the sides. :)
(Personally my favourite game is Catan.)
Lets move on to the food that we ate there,
The all so famous chinese "kung po" chicken with rice (popular Chinese dish)
Drink of the day.
Sweet and sour chicken with rice (+the eggs and veg)
Thai chicken with rice (If you wanted something spicy this would be a good choice)
Beef poutine (In black pepper sauce which was the recommended serving)
Butter cream chicken with rice (One of everyone's favourite dish of our group)
As I said before, the most popular choices were rice, because it is the most reasonable choice out of the menu. Also, another reason was because we, as Malaysians mostly take rice for lunch and dinner and it has become a special tradition of ours. Not many other countries can enjoy rice as much as we do so we should enjoy the moment. The beef poutine was specially ordered by Jason because he wanted to try something a little bit Western.
That is all we can talk about Don G, so overall Don G would be a good place to chill and get a reasonably priced lunch. We would come again when we have the chance and wouldn't mind suggesting it to other people.
Finally, here's our group photo of the day.
