Food Hunt - Ru Jia Xiao Chu aka Zhia's Kitchen Restaurant
One day, while waiting for our seminar
to start, we walked to Sunway Pyramid to hunt for food. After hovering around
the mall and looking at the directories, we decided to try out Zhia’s Kitchen
Restaurant.
Zhia’s Kitchen Restaurant (如家小厨) is a restaurant
which serves a variety of Chinese cuisine. It is said to be a popular hangout
for students and office workers during weekdays and family dinner gatherings at
night. It is located at the Ground Floor besides Kim Gary Restaurant. We went
there before lunch hour so the place was not fully pack. Basically, you can
choose to sit outdoor or inside the air-conditioned section.
Their
decoration is in red colour which symbolised good fortune and joy in Chinese
culture.
The restaurant environment was clean and neat.
Zhia’s Kitchen Restaurant also provided separate rooms for the big families to host grand dinners here.

A paper menu and pencil was provided on every table for us to mark our orders and the waiter collected them.

Zhia’s
Kitchen Restaurant was once promoted
at the showcase “Cepat-Cepat
Cari Makan”.
Local celebrity, Gary left a message to support
them. :>

Look at this girl can't wait to taste her food! :D |
Hui Shing ordered “Crispy Pork Chop with Cereal and
Rice” (RM9.90) which was one of the most popular dishes in the menu. This dish
was very appetizing. The crispy pork chop is very crispy and crunchy with the
cereal. Zhia’s specially made chilli sauce added zing to the taste!
Next, Jia Ying ordered Fung Shing Dumpling Chinese
Noodles (RM11.90) which is under the “Lamien” category meaning “hand-pulled
noodles”. Fung Shing Dumpling Noodles is well known in Zhia’s Kitchen
Restaurant and it is highly recommended by the chef of the restaurant. The
simple looking dumplings actually had a mouthful of delighted surprises with
its size bigger than normal dumplings sold in other restaurants.
While Su-Lynn tried the ‘Kampung’ fried rice
(RM9.90) and Jasmine Green Tea (RM2.90) .The fried rice was nothing to shout
about, too much dried prawns added which makes its taste different. Also, the
squid was overcooked and tough, making it difficult to chew.
The jasmine green tea was a combination of
jasmine tea and green tea. The fragrance of the tea leaves smells good. It was
very soothing and thirst quenching, suitable to drink in this hot weather.
On the whole,
we will pay a visit to this restaurant again to try out other varieties because the
food here is tasty and the portions are just nice. Other than that, the service
is efficient as we did not wait long for our food to come. The waiters are very
pleasant and attentive too. So, we will definitely recommend this place to
others as the prices are very reasonable and affordable for students.
